Our Story

In the heart of Saline County, a special story brews – the story of Mama B’s Tea and Coffee. More than just a coffee and tea shop, Mama B’s is a living legacy, a continuation of a century-old family tradition in the foodservice industry. Here, every cup of tea and coffee is a testament to our history, filled with the warmth of our heritage and the promise of innovation.

Founded on the principles of family, community, and quality, Mama B’s is the brainchild of Carolyn Fikes-Moody, a local who grew up just a stone’s throw from her beloved grandmother, Betty Sue Fikes – the original Mama B. Carolyn’s journey in the foodservice industry began in 1995, working alongside her parents and sisters in the family’s KFC franchise, a staple in Benton since 1967. It was here that Mama B’s famous lemon tea first delighted the locals.

As Carolyn took the helm of the family business, her vision for a unique culinary experience began to take shape. She dreamt of a place that wasn’t just about serving food and drinks but about creating a space where the community could gather, share stories, and enjoy high-quality, ethically sourced products.

Mama B’s Tea and Coffee is the realization of that dream. Our menu is a carefully curated selection of specialty teas and coffees, each with its own story. From the robust 8 bean espresso blend, each bean sourced from different ports supporting local farmers, to the delicate and aromatic Jazzy Java infused with flavors of rum, butter pecan, and cinnamon, our offerings are as diverse as they are flavorful.

But Mama B’s is more than just about what’s in the cup. It’s about the people who walk through our doors – the families, students, locals, and travelers. It’s about our team, who bring their passion and dedication to work every day. And it’s about our commitment to the community that has given us so much.

We invite you to step into Mama B’s Tea and Coffee, where every visit is more than just a transaction – it’s an experience, a moment, a memory in the making. Join us in celebrating the legacy of Mama B and the continuation of a story that’s uniquely ours, uniquely Saline County’s, and now, uniquely yours.
